Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Assistive Technology Professional to evaluate, recommend, and fit custom power wheelchairs and rehab equipment for clients with complex mobility needs. This role involves technical troubleshooting, building strong referral relationships with clinicians, managing insurance documentation, and ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely delivery of equipment to maximize client independence. 

Core Responsibilities

Clinical & Evaluation

• Perform assessments for clients with varied needs, ranging from minimal to complex/multidisciplinary.
• Conduct evaluations to assess patient mobility and seating needs in collaboration with clinicians and therapists.
• Work alongside medical teams to ensure appropriate product selection and configuration for complex rehab chairs.
• Deliver equipment and assist with proper seating and positioning to optimize patient comfort and function.
• Provide ongoing support to ensure equipment is properly fitted and make adjustments as needed.

Technical & Administrative

• Assemble, adjust, and troubleshoot power wheelchair electronics and rehab equipment.
• Recommend equipment based on current Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance guidelines; maintain a working understanding of HCPCS codes.
• Maintain precise, consistent patient charts for all consultations and ensure all measurements and accessories are accurate prior to delivery.
• Build and maintain referral relationships with therapists and medical facilities.
• Generate equipment quotes based on patient needs and clinical recommendations, following up on any required modifications.

Requirements/Licenses

• ATP Resna Certified
• Knowledge of complex rehab seating and mobility products
• Strong knowledge of insurance funding, specifically Medicare/Medicaid, for DME
• Familiarity with HCPCS coding related to DME
• Strong communication and patient interaction skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with clinicians and internal teams
• Ability to pass a drug screening
• Ability to pass and maintain a Level 2 Background Screening https://info.flclearinghouse.com
• Must maintain a current, valid Florida driver’s license
