POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Assistive Technology will focus on research, development, strategic direction and compliance related to Assistive Technology. This position will provide Assistive Technology direction and leadership by collaborating within the Organization and outside Agencies, Vendors, Associations and Universities.
Completing assessments for individuals with disabilities is a primary function of this role.
This full-time position works a schedule of Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with weekends off!
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
Associate Degree in Rehabilitative Sciences and Technology, Speech and Language Pathology & Audiology, Education or a related field
Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA) Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) Certification or the ability to obtain either certification within 6 months of hire
1 year of experience working in an educational or vocational setting
2 years’ experience providing assistive technology support
3 years’ experience in project management
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Current driver’s license and the ability to travel for business utilizing personal vehicle as needed
Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Rehabilitative Sciences and Technology, Speech and Language Pathology & Audiology, Education or a related field
Prior experience with Grant Writing, procurement of funding and/or business development
