Summary of Position
The Project Coordinator will: coordinate and provide device: loans, demo reuse, training and information for individuals, families, and service providers on assistive technology for all ages and all life functions at home, school, work, and play; fabricate devices; assist in conducting research; submit grant proposals; supervise and train staff and work study students and others who assist with data entry, inventory management, device creation, and activities associated with the above activities; coordinate work with AT Partners throughout the State; develop and submit federal reports; develop and conduct AT webinars and workshops; assist in development of marketing materials and other educational materials; provide technical assistance, awareness training and respond to information and referral request.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Provides information, referral, technical assistance, device creation, demonstrations, loans, and training on various assistive technology (AT) devices to individuals with disabilities.
- Coordinate, develop and conduct: assistive technology training and public awareness activities. Coordinate and manage iPAD app deployment and device demos and loans provided by state AT partners; and Coordinate, train, and supervise work study students.
- Collaborates with other departments on campus to provide assistive technology support and training activities. Purse funding opportunities for assistive technology related services. Ensure that all information posted and shared is in compliance with section 508.
- Develop and submit assistive technology related information for posting on the website. Compile, develop and produce quarterly and annual reports.
- Other duties as assigned.

Other Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Rehabilitation Counseling, Computer Information Services, Educational Technology, Special Education, or other health or disability, business admin related field, with advanced experience or training in Assistive Technology and at least three years of experience providing assistive technology services; and a RESNA certified or eligible to become a RESNA certified Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) preferred.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to manage and coordinate numerous ongoing activities.
- Experience w/ Microsoft Office and web based data entry systems.
- Must have iPAD, PC and Mac literacy.
- Knowledge of federal and state laws regarding disability access and compliance, including but not limited to Section 508 of the ADA.
- Experience in making and modifying assistive technology devices.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in conducting assistive technology related workshops.
- Ability to travel statewide to provide services and attend regional and national meetings.
