Receive/prioritize VR referrals for AT devices/services and schedule appointment within 15 working days.
Conduct assessments and/or refers to appropriate AWT Team members.
Maintains status of all AWT referrals in region and reports to the AT Services Director by the 10th of the month for the previous month.
Confers with AWT staff on complex cases.
Provide consultation, assessment and develops written reports
Provide consultation, assessment and develops written AWT report of recommendations
Coordinates with Clients VR staff and vendors to determine AT devices/services to achieve client’s employment goal.
Assures the AWT report is a comprehensive report which addresses the benefits of intervention; sources of equipment and services; approximate costs; comparable benefits; cost justification; and approximate timing for implementation.
Provide the report within 15 working days of completing the assessments.
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Rehabilitation, Rehabilitation Technology, Speech and Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Computer Technology or related field AND Two (2) years experience in adapting equipment for persons with disabilities and assessing needs for assistive technology
Six (6) years experience in adapting equipment for persons with disabilities and assessing needs for assistive technology.
