The Seating/AE Practitioner plays an integral part of a clinical evaluation team to evaluate musculoskeletal needs and seating required to increase function/independence and reduce/eliminate wounds. This position is responsible to independently repair and adjust existing seating and adaptive equipment.
This position also evaluates, fabricates and fits all types of non-complex seating/adaptive equipment to holistically address how the patient would best engage in their environment by using the most appropriate methods and materials under direct/indirect supervision of seating practitioner II or III to achieve desired goals for the patient.
• Minimum 1-3 years in seating or equivalent experience, or have successfully completed 75% of an accredited training program (supporting documentation required) • Competent with hand and power tools • Creative technical problem solving ability • Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and coworkers • Understanding of all types of non-complex seating products Gillette produces • Basic computer knowledge • Travel to Outreach clinics • Current CPR certification or must obtain certification within 90-days of hire
