The wheelchair, seating and mobility program at Shriners Hospitals for Children is now recruiting for a Seating Technician to join this innovative and collaborative team.
The Wheelchair & Seating Department is in-house custom seating clinic available to all patients with seating needs. Our highly skilled staff – comprised of practitioners, technicians and volunteers – with a cumulative 85 years of experience in physical and occupational therapy and mechanical engineering, provide customized wheelchair services for each child.
The Seating Technician fabricates, adjusts, repairs & transfers wheelchair & seating devices as outlined by the clinician, utilizing a variety of hand and power tools, machines and materials. The Seating Technician will also be in charge of driving the truck and loads/unloads wheelchairs.
High School Graduate preferred.
One Year Experience with tools and/or fabrication preferred
Extended periods of standing, routine bending, stooping, reaching, unassisted moving/lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
Drives truck and loads/unloads wheelchairs.
Employee will need to obtain child passenger safety technician certification and maintain certification within 6 months.
