Reporting to the OPED/Assistive Technology Department, the Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist will be responsible for evaluating patients for Durable Medical Equipment and completing necessary documentation, evaluating and casting patients for orthotics, evaluating for and fabricating custom splints and equipment modifications and assisting with/performing serial casting. The successful candidate must have experience with durable medical equipment, orthotics and/or splinting and casting. He/she must also have working knowledge of the principles of pediatric therapy to include knowledge of growth and development, and diseases and disabilities. Must be able to work well with others, along with the ability to communicate well, verbally and in writing.
Minimum Education Requirement: Graduate of an APTA or AOTA approved Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy curriculum.
Minimum Licensure Requirement: PT or OT Licensure from the District of Columbia required. CPR Certification is also required; RESNA ATP Certification preferred.
