DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration Salary Range - $86,663 to $112,665 / per year Responsibilities: The responsibilities of this position are to: 1) coordinate all aspects of the Wheeled Mobility Program, 2) provide direct patient care through evaluations, prescriptions, fitting and training in the use of wheeled mobility and the initiation of referrals for home, community and vehicle access, and 3) provide clinical guidance to other occupational therapists in the realm of seating and mobility.
Knowledge and abilities required for this position are those that provide successful delivery to the veteran all elements of seating and mobility. These include, but are not limited to: the ability to evaluate, prescribe, fit and train in the use of basic and custom manual wheelchairs, standard power wheelchairs and scooters, power wheelchairs with multiple seating functions, and custom seating systems; knowledge of home and vehicle access options (ramps, lifts, etc.); the ability to assess quality, timeliness and efficiency of the wheeled mobility program; the ability to design and implement processes to improve outcomes; the ability to be highly organized and manage competing demands; and the ability to triage clinical requests and assign and direct the work of others.
